THE USED EV MARKET IS EXPLODING. MOST BUYERS ARE FLYING BLIND.
Over 300,000 off-lease EVs are hitting the used market in 2026 and that number doubles by 2028. I verify what nobody else can before you buy.
WHY THIS SERVICE EXISTS
Dealers don't know how to evaluate used EV battery health. Most shops don't have the training or the tools. Buyers are spending $30K, $50K, $80K on used EVs with no way to verify the most expensive component in the vehicle: the high-voltage battery pack. A bad battery can cost more than the car is worth to replace. State-of-health percentage on a dashboard doesn't tell the full story. I do.
WHAT I INSPECT
Battery State-of-Health- Pack-level assessment of battery capacity, degradation level, and cell balance. Not a dashboard reading: actual diagnostic data from the vehicle's battery management system.
Drive Unit & Power Electronics - Inverter and drive motor fault history, temperature and live performance data, plus a road test evaluating power delivery, regen behavior, and abnormal noise or vibration. External inspection for leaks and mounting condition.
High-Voltage System - Isolation resistance readings, contactor operation, cooling and thermal management performance, and charging component condition, evaluated through diagnostic data and physical inspection of accessible components. These are the failure points that don't show symptoms until something expensive breaks.
Charging System - Onboard charger function, charge port condition, and charging behavior analysis, with DC fast charge verification when charging access allows.
Vehicle-Specific Research- Pre-inspection research on every known battery issue, TSB, recall, and common failure for your exact vehicle, year, and production run, verified against manufacturer data.
Professional Report- Written report with diagnostic data, findings, battery health assessment, and purchase recommendation.
WHO NEEDS THIS
Used EV buyers who want to know exactly what they're getting before committing to a vehicle that nobody at the dealership can properly evaluate.
Dealers retailing off-lease EVs who need to verify battery health before putting a vehicle on the lot and need documentation to show buyers.
Fleet managers transitioning to or already operating EV fleets who need ongoing battery health monitoring and evaluation on incoming vehicles.
PRICING
EV Battery Health Certificate: $350 per vehicle, flat.
Offered on Tesla, Rivian, and mainstream EV platforms, where my tooling produces defensible pack-level data. Porsche Taycan, Lucid, and Mercedes EQ platforms do not get a standalone certificate: those vehicles get the EV / luxury / performance or exotic / collector pre-purchase inspection, with the battery assessed to the depth the platform allows and every data source disclosed in the report.
Buying the car? Book the EV / luxury / performance PPI at $500. It inspects the entire vehicle and includes everything in the battery certificate. The standalone certificate is built for sellers, dealers, and fleets who need battery documentation without a full buyer's inspection.
An EV battery inspection is a current-condition assessment, not a prediction of future range or remaining pack life.
